An Interesting Exhibition

Today is a nice day. At 2:40 p.m., Alice, Shirley and I were going to Nanjing Museum. Just at that moment, we saw many GCA students. Julia, Cindy Yue, Peter Hou, and some other students were also at Nanjing Museum. Nanjing Museum is near Zhongshan East Road and the exhibition is open to the public all over the year. The reason why we chose to go there is that the exhibition is free and it has many kinds of halls. There are “Fabric And Embroldery Hall”, “Ancient Chinese Jade”, “Ming and Qing Porcelain”, “Ancient Treasure”, “Ancient Bronze”, “Ancient Chinese Earthen Ware”, and “Ancient Chinese Lacquer”.

My favorite hall is “Fabric And Embroldery Hall”. There is a lot of beautiful fabric and embroildery there. Cloud Brocade, the head of “ Nanjing Craft Three Treasures”, is the tradition jacquard weave silk weaving in Nanjing. As you know, Chinese invented the silkworm raising, filature and silk weaving firstly appeared in the world. The embroidery technique developed deeply. For thousands of years of development process, embroidery technique has formed the unique skill and the expression means. The embroldery is not only the pure solid one but also the valued artwork now, holding the important status in the Chinese art history.
I think the most interesting artwork is “Jin silk pouch”. The Jin silk pouch in the exhibition is founded in Qing Dynasty (AD 1644 1911). Do you know what pouch is? You can put money in your pouch; it is like a kind of purse. Pouch in China is beautiful and it represents the antiquity. I also like the “Jin silk dalian bag”. It is also founded in Qing Dynasty.

I like Nanjing Museum very much, and I am also in faovor of the exhibition. This exhibition has many different halls and every hall has many interesting exhibits. Those exhibits make us eyes in a mess. We knew much history about China from them and learned much valuable information. This is really a very meaningful trip!
