Go to a Performance with My Best Friend

I have watched a wonderful performance on December 19th 2008. This performance is called “The Taming of the Shrew”. The main character of this show is Katharina, who is an intelligent, but grumpy shrew, unwillingly married nobleman, Petruchio. Afterwards, Petruchio “tamed” his wife into an obedient and gentle woman.

In the evening of December 19th, 2008, Fiona and I went to Nanjing Foreign Language School Auditorium which is on the 3rd floor, over the Cafeteria to watch the performance. The reason why we choose this performance is that this performance was from GCA Drama Club and we wanted to see the product of Drama Club’s labor.

The door opened at 6:30pm. Fiona and I decided to spend the extra time to do some volunteer work and our work was to guide the way for the VIP. There were many audiences going there and there were also many teachers who came round to watch the show. With a wink, the show was going to begin. Every one was very excited and we didn’t know the actors. The introduction of “The Taming of The Shrew” is a drunken man Sly who has a dream in an inn. In his dream, he meets a lord and his pages that intends to play a trick on him. They perform a play for him………

I think this performance was interesting and every actor performed very well. This performance was common for me because I couldn’t understand every thing in it, but it was not boring, as its plot was attractive. This performance made me further understand the Shakespeare ; What’s more, this is one of my unforgettable experience.
