The Memorable Volunteer Work

The work of volunteers is very nobleness, because the volunteers make many contributions to society and they do not want the reward. We always can see a lot of volunteers sent out the brochures about environmental protection or whip-round in the sun or wind among the crowd. However, many passers do not pay any attention to them; they even leave about the leaflet. Their actions make me angry and I decide to be a volunteer at that time.

I have been a member of Charity Volunteers last year and I tried to participate in the every week’s activities. This year I am a volunteer of Maanshan Country Tax Bureau of Economy and Technology Development Zone, because I can do the volunteer work in my hometown---Maanshan. When I went there and said I want to be a volunteer, the people in office were very happy; they said that I can help them when I have the free time.

I felt that the time was very short when I was doing the volunteer work. For example, an afternoon, I was going to find some work to do, suddenly, a good-tempered uncle saw me and asked to me: “Hi, I don’t know how to use Excel to count, could you please come here to help me?” I was so happy because Mr. Gallinelli was just teaching us in the last class. Then, I taught the uncle and he learned to count. Unconsciously, one hour had been passed. I used the other one hour to clean the lobby’s banisters and the lobby’s floor. The cleaner taught me how to mop the floor efficient so I can do the cleaning work handy and facility.

The other day, I helped an aunt to sort out data. She sprained her ankle when she was going to the company, so I decided to help her to sort out the data. She said “Thanks” to me and told me how to sort out those data. When I finished the work, I gived her my telephone number and said that if she needs my help, she can call me. The aunt looked very happy and said thanks to me. I felt very satisfied because I could get the trust from the other people.

During the time while I be a volunteer in the Maanshan Country Tax Bureau of Economy and Technology Development Zone, I learned a lot of knowledge and information about how to clean, how to sort out data file, how to guide the way to the taxpayer or the other people, how to communicate with the stranger. After this process, I find that I become more confident and I can do some difficult things by myself. These unique experiences can make me be sure of myself and I believe that I can do better in the future!
